The most notable additional certificates include:
The Finisterrana: The testimony of the end of the world
This certificate is awarded in Finisterre to pilgrims who complete the route from Santiago to this iconic coastal point. In ancient times, walkers arrived here to contemplate the sunset over the sea and symbolise the end of their journey by burning their clothes.
Where to obtain it?
The Finisterrana can be requested at the Finisterre Tourist Office by presenting your pilgrim credential, duly stamped with at least two stamps per day from Santiago. The most common way to obtain stamps is in hostels, but you can also get them in tourist offices and some monuments, churches, museums, bars, and restaurants.
The Muxiana: A tribute to the Virgin of the Boat
If you decide to continue to Muxía, you can obtain the Muxiana, a document that certifies your arrival at this Marian sanctuary, where according to tradition the Virgin appeared to the Apostle James in a stone boat.
Where to obtain it?
The Muxiana is issued at the Muxía Tourist Office, where you must also present your credential with the necessary stamps from the towns you have passed through. The most common way to obtain stamps is in hostels, but you can also get them in tourist offices and some monuments, churches, museums, bars, and restaurants.
Both certificates are a beautiful reminder of your journey and a testimony of having reached the mythical ends of the earth.
